Project: Famous Women from Málaga using Genially
Staging of Activities
Stage 1: Establish Groups and Choose Topic
Students were grouped in pairs or trios, balancing skills to ensure productive teamwork.
Each group selected a notable woman from Málaga to research. I provided them with a list of women and supervise their choices to avoid duplicates and ensure diverse selections.
Stage 2: Research and Content Gathering
Students conducted research using reputable websites.
Each group completed a research planner handout to structure their information effectively.
Stage 3: Choose Genially Presentation Format
Students explored various Genially presentation styles (e.g., quizz, timeline, or infographic) and selected the format best suited to their content.
Stage 4: Creating the Presentation
Students transferred their work to Genially.
Stage 5: Final Edits and Presentation
Groups refined their projects based on peer and teacher feedback (feedback focused on clarity, engagement, and the accuracy of information).
Each group presented their Genially project to the class, incorporating speaking roles for all members.
Stage 7: Reflection and Evaluation
Students completed a self-assessment form reflecting on their learning experience, teamwork, and the use of Genially.
Grouping and Timing Decisions
Grouping: Students were grouped in pairs or trios with mixed abilities and learning styles
Timing:
1st session: Group formation, topic selection, and initial research.
2nd session: Content writing, Genially design.
3rd session: Teacher’s and peer’s review and final refinement.
4th session: Final presentations and reflections.
Reflection on Learning Outcomes
The use of Genially significantly enhanced the students' learning experience encouraging creativity, enhancing collaboration through shared decision-making, motivating students to engage deeply with the topic (most of them didn’t know anything about these women)
Improvements
I would allocate additional time for peer review to ensure more detailed feedback.
Overall, this project successfully achieved its objectives by promoting research skills, teamwork, and effective digital communication.
Hi, Soraya!
ResponderEliminarI've been really impressed by this project about important women from Malaga. I consider very effective the use of the tool Genially to prepare this task. I think it is a motivating way to enhance your students' knowledge of the story of their own city at the same time that using ICT tools. It would have been very interesting to watch a video on your students' presentation of each work.
